Perder una estrella

As an artist, I am interested in exploring the tensions between authenticity and connection, light and darkness, reality and expectation. Growing up away from my mother and, later, living far from my native country, confronted me with a similar tension: inhabiting the light and darkness of each territory, while holding the constant struggle between my own expectations and the reality that unfolds.

In my work, paper becomes the central material through which I express fragility and finitude, while the processes of tearing, cutting, and gluing visually translate the cycle of breaking and rebuilding. Perder una estrella is my first publicly exhibited series. An intimate exploration that transforms my personal experience of loss and grief into a visual language capable of speaking to anyone who has experienced the rupture of a bond.

Journalist, designer, and multidisciplinary artist based in Madrid, Spain. Her professional career in communications coexists with an artistic practice that has taken shape over the past few years, exploring collage, paper sculpture, drawing, and writing as expressive languages.
